Privacy notice

This site (electricpropulsion.org, run by TMH) collects as little as it needs to work. This page lists everything it does collect.

The configurator

Your configurator inputs are stored in your own browser (local storage) so you can return to them, and encoded in the page URL so you can bookmark or share a configuration. They are not sent to our servers unless you buy the PDF spec sheet or join the email list.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics and, only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and where visitors stop using the configurator. We record events such as reaching a configurator step, starting checkout, and clicking a supplier link — never your email address or payment details.

Cookies

Google Analytics is the only thing on this site that sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*, kept for up to two years). It is not loaded until you click Accept on the cookie banner; if you click Reject, it never loads. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page — withdrawing consent deletes the Google Analytics cookies.

The site also keeps a few items in your browser's local storage so it works: your configurator inputs, your cookie choice, and whether you have bought the PDF or joined the email list. Apart from what is described under Purchases and Email list, these stay in your browser.

Purchases

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details and email address for the receipt; we never see your card number. Your configuration is sent to our server to generate the PDF, and a fingerprint of it is stored with the Stripe payment so the PDF matches what you paid for.

Email list

If you subscribe on the configurator summary, we store:

• your email address and when you subscribed
• the headline numbers of the spec you were viewing (motor kW, battery kWh, bus voltage, waterline length, displacement), so emails can be relevant to your boat
• your approximate country, derived from your IP address
• the consent wording you agreed to

This is stored privately with our hosting provider, Vercel. We use it only to send occasional emails about electric boat propulsion — guides, tools, and component updates. We do not sell or share it. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we keep your details until you do.

Your rights and contact

To unsubscribe, see what we hold about you, or have it deleted, send us a request through the privacy request form. We will act on your request within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
